Stay Away From Her
New mommy in town was different other moms, no grace
She wore some kind of a hood that hid her secretive face
Concealed her baby, would not let any of us see
Sometimes angled in front of its face, a live bumblebee
We other moms kept away from her at the store or park.
Heard she tore wings off of butterflies for a lark.
The rumors got worse the longer she stayed around.
She is horrible I told everyone with gestures and sound.
You don’t even know her! My neighbor chastised me.
But I have heard the rumors, I told her most snottily.
Have you seen that bumblebee for yourself? she asked.
I don’t have to I told her rudely, diving back into my flask.
