State of Independence
Arise children, and witness a new dawn is breaking.
The bright eastern sun rises. It’s time for awaking.
We now tread upon our land in newly found freedom.
Yesterday’s yoke of encumbrance was a conundrum.
We climb the mountains and cross the rivers of our own.
No longer are there distant powers we must condone.
Take a handful of the fertile soil of our home ground.
Witness the growing fruits of our labors all around.
The colonials that drained the life out of our land
have departed soon after our people took a stand.
Voices raised high proclaim this state of independence.
Together, we can assure it maintains permanence.
