Standards For Literature
My standard for literature,
whether romantic
or academically sobering,
and preferably some hybrid in-between,
Literature teaches me
something I had not previously known,
but somehow felt,
about myself.
Even better,
also teaching me something new
about logos life on Earth
And mythic even better,
also teaching me something long implicitly precedented
about loving life
within revolving frames
of evolution's flaming
and quieter shaming
history.
