The Glory of Sacrifice

Look well to this day, young Marine Your service in all its realities is but a brief moment The reality of death and the glory of sacrifice is the mortar that bonds brotherhood’ “Semper Fi”The Few, The Proud, For in mortal strife; war, our yesterday’s were but a dream and our tomorrow’s are never promised. We were trained to exist well in the moment and our tomorrow’s visions would then become a reality. Fight well, and battle on, therefore, on this moment, it and it alone is life. For a marine has nothing, unless he is willing to fight and die for his cause, he cares nothing more then to preserve liberty.

Oh, Johnny, In this poem it looks as if you were (and ARE) a Marine. That is really nice. My son served four years around 2000. the few and the proud. Thanks for your service and now this poem.

Yes I did and thank you for your son's service. I am a proud service member but i am also very saddened by the way our service men and women are being treated. I especially grieved by the disrespect toward our flag. And thank you for commenting on my poem. I will stop by and ready some of your work. After all that is why we post them. Have a good night.
