Stagnant Heart

My mind is telling my feet To take the first steps to change but with every step I take My heart lag behind refusing to move with silhouettes of you Replaying in my head my heart beats faster yet stagnant... Embracing everything that's you from your smell, to your touch your laughter and that silly grin… Every inch so unique yet familiar, my heart beats faster yet stagnant... Focused on you, refusing to move, refusing change…

Dear Wilma, I'm sure we can all relate to this situation... not a comfortable one but you know the heart..that it can rule Romantics is true. I wish you well in every aspect of your life, my friend. As long as you're happy with yourself, don't change 'cause inside, you have to live with "you"! Beautiful piece of writing. Love, Audrey

seems like,a tug of war of sorts, the soul yearns for more than what the heart can give or recieve...the allure of the world is a strong attraction to the heart,as peace of mind can be difficult to achieve....peace , jay

Don't know if this reflects personal experience, Wilma, but it seems that something is missing in this relationship. The physical attraction is surely there to quicken her heart, but she still feels like the relationship is stagnant - not going anywhere. Much to think about in this compelling poem! Love, Carolyn
