The parade is marching to the beat of the drum With the skirl of the pipes with their distinctive hum Everywhere you look there's bright shades of green It's the day of the year, that the Irish love to be seen. During the great famine many were forced to roam And settled in far away places, that they now call home But their hearts are in Ireland and there's no better way To connect with fellow country men on this very special day. But it's a community event and people from every nation Join the proud Irish for the craic, in their big celebration Each county has a banner and folks proudly march behind Many with green foliage on their lapel, it's shamrock you'll find. After the parade it continues, with music dancing and song And if there's celebrations near you, make sure you go along You'll be given a big welcome, it's the Irish way And join in the fun celebrations on this St Patrick's day. Written 17th March 2022 HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY (Craic- In Ireland it means having a great time)

I am a little late here. A fun "ST PATRICK'S DAY" write and picture. I feel like I should go put some green on. I love their soda bread but hard to find where I now live. The old place had a man that made the best ever. Oh well!!! Have a blessed day/weekend.......................

Thank you very much Debra, my parents came from County Clare on the west coast but I was born in the UK, I still have many relations in Ireland and visit often. Every couple of years we have a reunion with, Poetry, a slide show, dancing and singing. Happy St Patrick's day to you. Tom

Having downed many a pint in Dublin, I always enjoy Saint Patrick Day, but nowhere in Hawai'i can one dine on Steak & Kidney pie! So now I am off to photograph the parade in Waikiki. Enjoy! Aloha!

Down at the parade in Dublin today It’s three years since the last one, last two where cancelled over covid, your poem is so realistic, it’s as if you where there yourself, it really is a multinational event, funny there was a lot of Ukrainian flags flying, we have a lot of them working over here now, was great to see, brilliant atmospheric poem, cheers David

Thank you very much David, The one in Birmingham was cancelled this year as the area is under development. Dublin one is on my bucket list, a few years ago my daughter went to New York and borrowed my Clare top as they were going to the parade and as the Clare crowd were passing they were all waving at her when they spotted the shirt.
