Spring's Rebirth, Heals Both Heart and Waiting Lands

Spring's Rebirth, Heals Both Heart And Waiting Lands

Upon dawn's golden rays, soft breeze floats its songs
Songs of new beginnings beneath rainbow wings;
Winging through forest lush and its hidden throngs
Are rare and beautiful gems only Nature brings.

Should my soul, feast upon such wondrous art
Firmly embrace the dreams that are thus born;
Savor this food, and more Nature freely imparts,
Treasured fair, that heals those lonely and forlorn.

There within radiance, its thrilling lights ablaze
Spring's new hunger- In seeded soils after fresh rain,
Emerge new Life- blessings that gift and amaze
Bringing forth, Love and new Hopes hard to explain.

In that moment- Earth, Sky and Heaven's wondrous Arts
Birth new aspirations that heal even broken hearts!

Robert J. Lindley,

Sonnet, ( Spring That Births New Hope)

Your writing is always so beautiful. I wish we were beginning Spring and not Winter!

Thank you my friend. I too, wish it were Spring. And Winter with its cold is my least favorite season. Tho' I admit that Winter snows covering all in white are glistening gems, that have inspired many poems over these many decades, from my pen.

This is so beautiful. I was thinking you did it recently and then noticed 1987. Gosh, the only poems I had written by then were a few lovesick poems and Xmas parodies!! When was it that you realized you were a poet, my friend? I think I was around 45. That was also the pinnacle of my life!! If there is ever a nature or sonnet contest, this one needs to be entered!!

Thanks much my friend. Hard to answer since even now I so oft doubt that I am... I know my best writes are my sonnets but whether I am a poet or not, is for others to decide, IMHO. I try my best and hope the readers enjoy the presentation--and understand the message intended. You are natural poet my friend as is evidenced in your top class poems using various poetry forms..

Thank you my friend. The 80's were a very trying time for me. I wrote far more poems in the 70'and 90's--at least better poems in my biased judgment. But perhaps I am not the best judge of my own works-- which is oft the case with poets.

A stunning write Robert. Such lovely imagery in your amazing lines. Excellent poetic expression throughout but especially strong and beautiful in your third stanza and final couplet. Love it!

Thank you my friend. As oft is the case, this poem was written about a great love lost in my in life many years prior to the writing about it. And how part of my healing was getting back into the deep woods and seeing such beauty that rivaled even hers! A very long process but youth has a way of springing back. But the pain of that epic loss, hurts even today when I recall it.

"There within radiance, its thrilling lights ablaze Spring's new hunger- In seeded soils after fresh rain," Those are beautiful lines, Robert.

Thank you my friend. I was sorely tempted to edit this before posting. To give this poem a uniform syllable count but thought might just be best to leave it as it was originally written. For to make the syllable count uniform would change the context and message a bit too much ,IMHO..
