For JCB Brul's Spring Sonata contest..

An old photo from my once magnificent garden

Dream catchers chime in the wind, like soft tones of a xylophone. Melodic melancholic rain, is free flowing, but morning birds still arrive, sitting on wet window sills, singing about their desires. In daffodil daydreams, the breeze resonates like a flutist, gently swaying bluebells in a rhythmic flow, as pink, silver and lilac heather spread around a bed of golden violet crocus. Under my magnificent magnolia tree, ivory petals dance in puddles upon damp lawns with fresh grass, weeping love songs strummed on acoustic strings of green. Sprinkles of drizzle sparkle, like an absent lover's ostinato, caressing the earth in a rhapsody of tender kisses, nourishing it's soul to harmonise with a symphony of returning sun rays. As a chorus of clouds clear in a final crescendo, introducing sapphire hues with golden delight, rainbow pastels bless the tempo of rows of tantalising tulips in kaleidoscopic shades - as natures breathes in alternating fusion.

What a beautiful entry in the contest. The musician in me listens and pictures the gentle breeze like a musician, playing soft tones on a xylophone or a flute as it sways the bluebells in a rhythmic flow. The pink, silver, and lilac heather spread a beautiful chorus of clouds, creating a final crescendo that introduces a rhapsody of tender kisses. It's a lovely scene to imagine. Good luck in the contest dear S1...Hugs

SO, love the musical composition aspect of this poem. It seems like a garden of eden--absolutely beautiful and perfect. It's not so easy to keep a garden so that it is always lovely.

Dear silent one, you always amaze me with your word weaving, this is another poetic gem from your soul, that truly left me in awe and breathless, i love the way you paint imagery, and how you take us readers on a journey, as if i can see and hear the sonata of spring through your words, and i must say, i cant help but love everhthing about this. “ Under my magnificent magnolia tree, ivory petals— damp lawns with fresh grass, weeping love songs strummed on acoustic strings of green” that resonates and hits so deep! I love it!!! So beautiful! Evocative and soulfully moving this is! Pleasure reading you always! Best wishes

I admire the calm and chills. The flowers, the garden, the breeze. I sometimes think that the flowers live their own lives. They eat, smile, dance and dream. The first line made me think the teddies in the image were dream catchers. "like an absent lover's ostinato, caressing the earth in a rhapsody of tender kisses." This was super dope. Can't get the imagery out of my head. Lovely spring piece Silent. As always.

you've magnificently captured all the sounds of spring, its sonata so divine! Your personification is delightful (like an absent lover's ostinato, caressing the earth in a rhapsody of tender kisses.) I especially liked 'damp lawns with fresh grass weeping songs' I'll never think of damp grass white the same after having read your words. Breathtaking poem. Best wishes with the contest, Sara

Dear Silent One, What a beautiful soundscape! You created such a wonderful picture with the wind chimes, rain, and birdsong. It feels like a gentle melody unfolding. I love how you personify nature – the daffodils daydream, the magnolia weeps love songs. The imagery of the sparkling raindrops and the rainbow's crescendo at the end is particularly stunning. It truly captures the music of spring. a FAV - Blessings, Daniel
