Spring Lingers

Spring Lingers Winter’s long rage is quiet now And Spring, once again clothes herself With the promise of Summer’s warmth. Yet, she lingers, and listens for The soft and familiar tread Of one who joys in her pathways. But life, pregnant and impatient Calls for new beginnings and birth, And heeding; Spring fades into life That sings and dances anew with The soft and familiar tread Of one who joys in her pathways. Congratulations on your win, James. I really like the phrasing and use of metaphor - "tread," "pathways" to illustrate footprints. Adds so much to your write! All the best.

I love the way you personify spring, James, allowing her to sing, dance, linger. A lovely interpretation of the contest theme. There were many extraordinary poems in this contest. Congratulations on a well-deserved win! And thank you for supporting the contest. Hugs, Carolyn

Hi Carolyn. Thank you for your kind words. My first ever entry of a poem in a contest. I shall enjoy reading the other entries. Kind regards.
