Spring House Cleaning

I'm making a list
It seems there are a thousand stretches and corners
Too many    by far    to clean all at one stretch
Umpteen thousand stretches and corners

Haven't done a thing since last spring
I stretch and yawn just thinking about all those stretches and corners
I'm thinking.....
Just one corner each day    one stretch
Till the whole damn house is done
This plan seems sensible
Manageable
Yes    that's the word
Manageable   BUT!

At my age just a look at the long list I'm making out wears me out
At one a day it will take me
Umpteen thousand days
?
Awwww    hell!
What's the use?
I won't live that long anyway

Indeed, compartmentalizing the effort into "Just one corner each day" seems the best approach. I love the angst you express so well in this delightful work. And the last verse made me laugh!!!
