from love's cold constraint shedding the shackles of grief ice drifting downstream

Paul, on the surface this looks like a lovely spring Haiku, but scratch the 'ice' a bit and here's what I see; I read this as someone who has recently left a cold, loveless relationship where there was repression of natural emotions and loving impulses that made this person feel very unloved, lonely and sad. Leaving this situation freed them of their 'grief', thus allowing this person to shed the coldness they were subjected to.. A beautiful Haiku my creative friend. Warmest wishes ~Susan

Wonderful image of a snow melt comes to mind when reading this Haiku. Lovely use of simple words to shed the cold of winter into spring. Loved this!
