Spring Break

Like the sun’s celestial smile
Beaming yellow happy rays
Across bubbly lovely clouds
Hear the children at play

Spring break is happening
Animals seem to know
Even plants are laughing
Blooming in the wind a glow

Spring has sprung a leak
Everyone seems so relieved
For weary of the winter breeze
Forgetting Jack Frost’s freeze

Actually, I hear that 'Spring Break' is pretty bleak down in Florida this year... That's a good thing, as far as I'm concerned. Bunch of drunken, oversexed fraternity brothers and sorority sisters, acting like imbeciles ~ Mister Killjoy

Now, here's a happy poem, Karen. I love the opening line "... sun's celestial smile" and the word play of "spring has sprung a leak." Well done, and it makes me smile.

How I used to love watching children play. Spent ten years as a teacher, but I wanted a better job.

Teachers deserve better pay than football players I think! What grade did you teach Victor?

Everyone must be enjoying the spring break after a tough time of frost bite and freezing cold. A lovely spring poem.
