Spring

A new flower begins to sprout
green buds closed, barely peeking out.

The crisp air warms as a farmer wakes up
chirping baby birds, fresh pink tulips.

One bunny, two bunny, three bunny, four...
Away each hop to play and explore!

Fragrant lilacs dance with the breeze
nectar gathered by hardworking honey bees.

A darting duckling follows her mother
while the furry caterpillar seeks a cool cover.

Bright blue skies on a cloudless day
a joyful child excited to play!

May you March this April with springtime in mind
for this sun-kissed season was designed to unwind!

A well written entry, Kimberly. I liked the variety of animals and creatures you interwoven into this piece, like the darting duckling. "one bunny, two bunny, three bunny, four" Spring is a time for (well) ... other things also ... lol. Contests are fun because they challenge me in different ways, and it's a fun pool of inspiration.

exactly! The contests have been fun so far because they bring me out of my comfort zone...its challenging. Writing something such as above wasn't easy for me lol but its all about being uncomfortable sometimes so we can grow!

nice simplistic view of spring Kimberley, good last couplet , incorporating the 3 months, ...though a decent write it may get absorbed into the floods of similar writes that will blow in on a spring breeze,... well done and good luck, ...
