SPOTLIGHT
the media circus has begun
the grins bloviated like Seussical cats
i swear they are jumping up and down
exercising their cataracts and bulbs
they wouldn’t want to miss out
on one verbose moment
the unholy lack of humbleness
will trip a wire
fling the media into what they aspire
but God looks elsewhere for fame
remember the dame
who put her red cent
unseen
into the poor’s treasury
God shone a huge spotlight
where dust
prevailed
i bet that coin is in heaven’s museum
above the King’s throne
proud with buttons popping off
in a frame with the lady’s name
