tear open the seal
thick folded papers land loud
eviscerated
like our forever, but how
soulmates aren’t supposed to end

A shattering feeling I suppose many have felt. You've captured someone's pain perfectly Tom.

Sometimes I wonder why we even bother with wedding vows anymore. Soulmate has somehow gotten confused with playmate. This is a good one, Tom!
