Did I ever tell you? No, I did not.
If I could split open my heart,
you would find the image of an evening...
under a sea of glittering stars, two young souls,
unknowingly falling in love ~
you were enthusiastically narrating a story ~
a spellbound account of longing and loss -
did we have slightest idea what loss really meant!
I, a captive listener!
what magic did you instill with your hypnotizing voice?
became a priceless memory I could never erase.
Did I ever tell you? No, I never did.
If I could split my heart wide open to remind you
an evening of strolling back together,
by a desolate narrow village-path,
dark noiseless night,
stars mysteriously blinking,
tall trees apprehensively watching,
swaying their branches,
two of us... walking straight into the night...
as if in a trance..
the sight often appears in my dream,
never fades away!
many years later…
a flashback ~ never slipped away from memory!
in front of a mighty waterfalls,
raining uninterrupted...
rain and the falls...flooded, drenched both of us,
never witnessed pouring rain the way I did,
my heart never pulsated the way it did!
a ruby-crowned kinglet crooned inside me,
heart leapt and almost
burst with a sensation of craziest happiness,
Did I ever tell You?
