As streak of evening wanes on treetops
I flit away to guard man’s dwellings;
My calm eyes watching a hollowed time
Evanescing gradually into the night:
White- feathered tip carries an olive branch
Sprinkled with dew of hope, of repose
While petals drop their silhouettes
Against the hours’ afterglow.
This mystic presence stirs me high,
Like a Holy Spirit’s godly behest
When nothing but the grace of calm
Descends through heaven’s nest…
Till my wings glimmer to imbue light
Enshrining man inner peace and sway,
As dawn greets my evensong
To celebrate a new day, ever reborn.
