Notes About The Poem

Special Delivery

I set out to make a romantic Valentine’s dinner The table is set with our finest crystal champagne glasses, Silver cutlery glistens like the moonlight on a still lake and a delicious aroma drifts from my kitchen window Suddenly the doorbell rings I open the door to find a handsome stranger on the doorstep He is holding out a massive bouquet of beautiful red roses I blush scarlet and lean forward to accept them Then he says… I hope you don’t mind taking these in love… I popped a card through your neighbour’s door saying I’d leave them here! - Wow .... what a man .... what a man ... - It's quite possible to be in love at first sight - but it always pays to take a second look .... maybe... another slick eel :) - But he was beautiful for the eyes ... and gorgeous flowers :) - Love it, Jan - hugs // Anne-Lise :)
