Sparks a New Justice
dylan thomas is dead
he’s buried out in the back yard
with ted bundy teeth marks &
a smell of rot
all his own
with the optimism of ages past
irrelevant now as it was then
but romantic hearts, candlelit & hoping that
if they prayed enough
something “good & right” might happen, it
all died along with him
so as go the wishers near the well
backwards stumbling & falling into
what they hope is a pool of dirty water below
the rank cement cracks the bones
leaving no strong person left
to climb out like daniel plainview &
walk the world anew
conscious of what drought of any “human soul”
has taken place
leaving nothing but decay & misery in its
wake,
so that priests, ministers, rabbis & mullahs alike
get dragged, face-down,
through the dirty, filthy, sewage
that sparks of a new justice
that only the electro-techno 21st century could have brought.
