9/2/2024 for Soupers Unite and Write! Poetry Contest sponsored by Benjamin Bartley

Let's toss some poets into a soup like a gumbo  to make a concoction of proportions quite jumbo, with a variety of flavors, so delicious, yet, for our hearts, minds, and spirits, highly nutritious. Let's call this exotic concoction, PoetrySoup, and then welcome that ridiculous Dave Crandall dupe, with his oddball poems of distaste and aberrance, making him grateful for everyone's forbearance.   Like a fly, I do the backstroke in this soup as I read poems that sow beauty and happiness's seed; or, snorkeling, I think hard as I dive down deep, and devour a profound poem before I sleep.

Congratulations on the #2 spot and a trophy for this contest of mine. I should have known this poem was yours. But of course, I rate the poems based on merit not popularity. I always try my best to keep all poems anonymous until the results come out. Well done!

Thanks Benjamin! Oops, I noticed what I did afterward - won't happen again. It was a fun contest!

So creative and full of fun, David! I couldn't help but think of the song "All God's Children Have a Place in the Choir" when I read your line about being a dupe! You are needed and necessary to give your special flavoring to this precious soup! Congratulations on your win! Blessings to you!

Thanks so much Sam. Wow, I remember that song from when my son was little, I remember a guy named John McCutcheon did it - great song!

Thanks Beryl! If a machine produced the poem I wrote, I'd take it back to the shop - lol!

haha, yep, you can be the fly! Let's see, I don't want to be a piece of gristle. I could be a meatball - nope I'm a vegetarian. I'll be something spicey - a jalapeño!
