Sound Science

Hello Darwin my old friend
It seems we are crackpots again
As knowledge has become forbidden fruit
Applying logic is now completely moot
With Edward Jenner turning in his grave
Can’t save the saved
With the sound of science

With ICUs packed to the door
And health officials asking for
Everyone to just wear a mask
Apparently a most invasive task
To protect your neighbours from this disease 
They’re on their knees
With the sound of science

Now you may call me heretic
For being so scientific 
But I have faith in my fellow man
That beating this disease we can
By trusting experts who know their stuff
Would be enough
To hear the sound of science
