He finds me quietly inviting the light
To fall over my dreams, my prayers, the silence
Surrounding me with blankets of memories,
Lifting my thoughts from their wistful reveries,
Delicious darkness, so delicate, tempting me to see
Life is sometimes kind, sometimes painful,
But always, always - a miracle, a miracle blazing
Just beneath the seas of heartbreak, skies
Where loneliness isn’t always so kind or wise,
Sometimes it feels like the shadow running
From the gentling of light, cool soft glow
Promising the soul to blow away the dust of fear,
Replacing it with the most tender, dewlike tear
He finds me risking my thoughts, my feelings
Rising early to discover the ache traipsing,
Heavy as a heartache, into the sunrise – dawn’s breath
Erasing stardust feelings and the melancholy
Blended with old age, where I feel the twinge of guilt
Beneath the glowing of a moon who illuminates the sky
Remembering to kiss the glistening edges, flames
Stars who resemble whispers in the moments
Just before the sunrise washes away the moon
And the night, with its dazzling smile, pouring out
Promises, optimistic as the flow of its shimmering
Wings, waving to the music of an ocean singing,
Wishing for the silence, so noisy and so hushed,
All at the same time – Yes, all at the same time…
He finds me, breathing in, breathing in
Hope that exhales the faintest feelings,
Dreams who aspire to smile,
Gentling the soul with deepest joy,
Bleeding serenity, sincerity, brave as the willows
Who move wistfully, still and then stirring
Poignant as yesterday’s shifting shadows,
Painting the moon in flaming kisses,
The stars in expressions so endless, evidences
Signs and wonders, yes, signs and wonders –
Lasting beyond the words, past the crashing of waves,
Wonderful beckoning from the startling brush
Wings against grace, abiding in the shimmering
Heartfelt sapphire tunes, riding on seas
Vibrant hues of rhythmic truths,
Beating melodies from the prayers, the psalms
Praises unending – praises for sending
Faith its devotion, grace its wonder – love
Its adoration, its benevolence, its compassion –
Love that is like the amazing in the mystery,
The truth beneath yesterday’s sweet
He finds me, unburdened by the silhouettes
Broken outlines, trembling echoes
Never allowing me to remember this –
This past where my heart once felt
Displaced, disgraced, ashamed to have been
The part of me that is now – a burning
Flame of wonderful, wonder so beautiful
It rains joy into the night and honor into the heart…
He finds me, believing.. not grieving
He finds me, breathing in hope, exhaling praise
Praise that is HIS, forever HIS, my gift
From the depths of these tears that remember –
His healing, His gentling, His protection and grace,
HIS LOVE … forever growing feelings who survive,
Reflecting the miracle of His unending light!
Because of HIM, I’m alive – and my only desire
Is to light this fire beneath the heart of someone who needs
To see, to believe, to find the grace that He brings
When He saves a soul from the darkness that overshadows
The life who doesn’t know HIM as the beautiful LOVE
He finds me, delighted, because I know He is here with me,
Forever alive, forever gifting me with grace that remains –
My soul’s greatest need, my soul’s greatest blessing,
Because of Him, I’m eternally grateful and forever,
Forever, forever - I’ll praise Him!
