Author's Notes: "Soul Essence" is a lyric poem of special interest that I completed on March 30, 2018. My intent was to approach this theme from three perspectives: human mortality, metaphysical aspects, and cosmic destiny. Every verse in this lyric has its own distinct (and relational) meaning as part of a greater cosmic reality. (Gary Bateman - March 30, 2018) (Lyric)

Theme Categories: allegory, death, heaven, imagery, metaphor, spiritual, and symbolism.

Soul Essence Release comes with death. The mortal host is no more. A faint and sad cackle is heard, As all illusions come to an end. The bare body lies in a stiff repose. What once was, is now no more. Tears are shed in a mortal milieu, As the soul begins its ascension. The flowers in decoration serve As a human memory of the past. Tender emotions now permeate the air, As the flowers’ sweet smell is realized. The moon shines bright in the dark sky, As the soul now meets its cosmic destiny. Magnificent piece... our particles are around for almost 14 billion years and they will continue for ever. Our soul is the energy and the energy cannot be destroyed. It's a scientific law, so the truth is cosmic destiny ...Brilliant

Dear Gary.... I just love intelligent people... Stephen Hawking said, " We are only the temporary custodians of the particles which we are made of. They will go on to lead a future existence in the enormous universe that made them"...Cosmic destiny... Truly ....

Hello dear Gary, your compelling poem tells of human mourning and of celebration for the continuance of the soul, free from its human body, that ascends to a heavenly home completing a spiritual circle in human life but continuing to evolve on a higher spiritual plane. A beautiful and intriguing poem, my friend and one that I truly enjoyed. Happy Easter my friend. ~Susan

Hello Dear Susan!! Thanks for your read of my Lyric poem here and for your most descriptive comment!! I'm very certain this is the same path we will all eventually follow, except for those of unsavory character who may end up in another place, i.e., with Lucifer (The "Light Bringer"). One way or another, we shall all find out in the end. (Recommend you read my other poems: "The End," "The Unknown," and "It's Your Time") -- if you have the chance to do. They address this same theme. Happy Easter Wishes!! Best, Gary

What a lovely scene: Shedding the body and setting the soul free to join the angels. Wonderful imagery, Gary.

- Becoming dust is our ultimate destiny, dear Gary - Every human being - without exception, is subject to death, and this reality is scary to many - The fear of pain, the unknown, the fear of losing our love one - But, our soul lives on ... I belive :) - (I do not "like" death ... but there are none options :) - A awesome write, Gary - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Hello Dear Anne-Lise!! Thanks for your read here and in-depth comment. I agree with you. There is only one alternative in the end when we all shall face the mortal limitation to our human life. (This poem is a continuation of some other ones I wrote in the past on this similar theme.) Our soul will live on to meet its cosmic destiny before our Maker. Best Easter Wishes to you and your family from Ingrid and me!! Gary

Has a nice spiritual tone to it Gary.I do not fear the unknown. I will miss my children, though.I have heard some say that one's soul is the love in one's heart., given and taken. Enjoyed the read my friend.

Thanks Danny, and Best Easter Wishes to you and your family from Ingrid and me!! Yes, I've heard that too about "that one's soul is the love in one's heart." It does make sense. I glad you enjoyed my lyric. Best Always, Gary
