“Soul Cry”



Yeezy you da best
Not ice cold soulless 
You gotta big heart
Wanna be next U.S. Pres'
You now swingin' with da rest
with your delusional pal 
That Humpty Dumpty 
gonna have a big fall
One messy cracked 
bad Orange egg
That Joker card's a Trump 
You surfing on the swell?
You still under that man's thumb?
Still jiggy with him, doin' the bump?
Walking the fine line on his wall, 
big bears hug?
That's not dope boy 
"That sounds like a choice"
“People do anything
To be included in Everything”
You have everything
You can change anything
Darkness in the boy 
done turned good 
you're now a man
Open the Cage
You now have a voice
walking with a different gang
but it's kinda the same thang
in your shiny new hood
"If I had everything, 
I could change anything"
Release those babies
from the Can
Stop their crying
Stop their pain

David Smith July 17, 2018 at 9:14 PM Excellent write. If we all save a soul each it make a difference in the end. I got one baby out of a situation that could have been a death sentence or at very least a life of misery. Showing people a better way also is a good starting point as is leading by example. We have to believe we can change things or we wont bother to try. We can push back the darkness. Your use of words and style is very good. But one wonders, has the murk infected the world to a point where a complete catharsis is required. I hope somehow the world becomes a better place, but how much will it take to make it a better place? Hope and faith are important - finding strength in numbers and common purpose is an entirely different field of play which requires real, clean, strong leadership. Every country has their issues with immigration, refugees and national security and there are corrupt politicians in every country. Children are the future and their lives and their futures must be protected, always.

Leanne Lovejoy-Burton June 22, 2018 at 11:01 AM I have a daughter Sylvia, whether a person is a parent or not, and particularly if you are a child or young adult following Humanitarian issues in America and the rest of our world, the atrocious and disgraceful handling of the separation and detention of these children and their families, in a country that the rest of the western world (as well as third world countries and countries in crisis) look to as a "Leader" (America) for alliance and protection is disgraceful and bordering on, if not, dictatorship/fascism. Hitler was a dictator/fascist. Mussolini was a dictator/fascist, Pol Pot...et al. It has surpassed serious. I learnt today these children are administered drugs (without parents consent, without their own consent).This is a basic human right. It beggars belief what sane, solid, logical/intelligent humanitarian & legal thought process, was invested in the outcome of a child being allergic to the drugs, & the child rendered as soft putty in the hands of sexual predators. Leanne Lovejoy-Burton June 20, 2018 at 5:33 PM I believe some parties within the UN are anti-Israel. It is obvious. However, the U.S. withdrawing is not going to make the world a better place. If anything the U.S.'s clout in that arena is required for those allies who believe standing firm in alliance can assist the world's Human Rights. The irony of this withdrawal and alliance with Israel, is that they (the U.S. and Israel), are initiating exactly the same conditions that escalated the Jewish Holocaust and in that action alone, the leaders and administration of those countries are true hypocrites. They have not learned from past, they are in fact repeating it. It is very sad. Very sad and worrying for the safety and the future of not only those children in detention (along with their mothers) who are continually violently abused (emotionally, physically and sexually) by a system out of control riding shotgun on their own reptilian laws.

Separating the children from their parents is not "keeping the family together" nor protecting children. It is true that a lot of these children and parents fleeing over the border are seeking refuge from unsafe conditions such as gangs, drug wars, death to find themselves in unsafe conditions locked up in cells being abused by a corrupted system in a country that offers freedom and safety. I do worry about the children. What happens next over there? I hope it does not go the way of the Holocaust and other regimes who have fallen under fascist policies and the laws of dictatorship.
