Sorry I Had Missed It

Cannot think of an adjective that starts with a Y a third grade girl says.
We are on virtual, so they are at home with parents, but we speak
through our individual videos.
Youthful, I suggested.
Another third grader corrected me.
Useful starts with a U.
You are correct, and I am correct, I told him.
Useful does start with a U.
But youthful, which is the adjective I gave her starts with a Y.
Oh, he said.
No apology.
I heard his mother in the background.
Not happy that he had incorrectly tried to correct his teacher.
He was on mute, and I am sorry that I missed it.
I could tell by his face it was good.
