Sonnet 74: 'Don'T Ask Me How I Know, Because I Do'

Don’t ask me how I know, because I do, How broad the heart in which you sheathed the knife! I let you, even though I somehow knew, Continue and continue without strife. I should have known that your intent would fade, That you’d bear no ill will, nor good will, either! I should have known, oerthrown, that you weren’t made For loving me, nor trusting me, nor neither. You never could reveal a single feeling Except to say , ‘I like you too’, sometimes. You never would participate in healing When heav’n rang bells, you could not hear the chimes! This OTHER man, who steals your love away, Will he be faithful? Sure, I cannot say.

Thanks for sharing this. By God's grace, I greet you with the peace and joy of Christmas toward a prosperous New Year along this present: "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23 of the King James Bible). God bless you.

Thanks, P.S.! Well, that's all in the past. I think I have met my Soulmate, now. I haven't posted any of the new poems for her because they are too personal, but, maybe... soon...
