Conclusion
Patrick was a gentle soul,
With joy and kindness he was rife,
He served one god, his Creator,
Thankful for being given life.
On March 17th, year 460
Patrick took his final breath,
Though, by the pope, never canonized,
The people sainted him in death.
God healed the sick, led, kept safe the flock,
Restored sight to the blind;
Patrick shared his ears, kept warm his heart
And always, he was kind,
He reflected his creator
In all he'd say and do
And in God's mission for him
His friends numbered not a few
God (through Patrick) worked miracles
Around the Irish lands
And throughout the verdant countryside
Proof of his mission stands:
He Christianized the heathen,
Showed them Compassion's golden way,
He taught them of forgiveness
And to one god to pray.
Patrick knew his life's purpose
Was, God's will, to serve
And in his faith, he knew
That, from no path, he could swerve.
All is as it is, we each have our course,
But always do the most,
Patrick did for his Creator,
The Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
So, the story of St. Patrick,
You now know a little bit
And how this faithful servant
Of God would never quit:
St. Patrick followed his calling,
To his path, he remained true--
As we all have a mission,
Something we each must do.
A final thought I share with you
Before I go my way
About the Faith in Ireland,
Staunchly defended yet today:
If someone went throughout the land
To impart yet unheard news,
How is it that it'd be received?
Which ones would wear whose shoes?
