Son Light



in the sunrise, my gaze is met
by still morning dewdrops,
blessings from His breath
	heart full of gentle, kindness
		never to neglect
His love is filled with light, His grace
	oft reflected by my praise,
while the sunlight bleeds into the dawn
stories of hope, inspired by love

in the music of a moment’s jubilee
when the whisper of doves,
the beauty of morning’s robins, wrens
all the still life – indigo skies
	glistening, brilliant, lemony sunshine
		promising to awaken
the shadows of a morning
	where life is nothing more
than the answer to God’s word, His hope
written on the thoughts of those
who see Him in the sunrise, in the dawn
where we can’t ever honor Him
	nearly as much as He deserves
		we will never praise
with the power that is sure to amaze
	His power, silencing the grave
		strengthening our faith

in the sunrise, my spirit is fortified
by the nearly blinding gaze
of a love that comes to those who see
	He is strong when I am weak
		He is the hope I often seek
			He is the love that means
I can let go of the past with all its sins
follow the One who came to give His grace
to those who need forgiveness,
those who need to hear His promise
	love that never lets you fall
		love that never lets you doubt
love that is yours, while He waits in the clouds
silencing the fears, restoring the dreams
writing light into the spirit –
	who simply believes, just believe
He is everything He says He is…

He is the music in the wind
He is the silence in the still
He is the light in the dawn
He is the answer to every hurt
He brings renewal to those who worry
He is the reason I can say…
	with each sunrise, with each grace
		I feel a stirring of sweetest praise
Praise the One who can amaze
Praise Him forever – with every sunrise
with every breath, with every word spoken
remembering He is more than the music
beneath the song – He is the reason
I keep singing along…

Sing praises forever and always
Sing praises to the One so deserving
Sing praises because He is the SON LIGHT!
