Sometimes, I Just Cry

Another year,
 new and all that
so that's where it's all at.
Forget the past
 don't fret the futures cast

There it falls
 the 2020 New Year Ball,
are all the memories laid aside
maybe that's why I cried
 tears filling my eyes.

To the year now long gone
the body and the mind move on
 and those lessons once learned
lay in ash from winter burn
seeking the wisdom we have earned.

Is that a tear I see
it's okay, the memories are yours to keep
and new ones await the actions that we reap
and in the asking why
 sometimes, I just cry..

Yes, we have to keep those past times alive with memories. Thankfully, we can look to the past when we need to. A pensive thought-provoking piece. Thanks for sharing your innermost thoughts.

DM, There is a sadness to this Rhyme whose time has come. It remains to be seen, all our tomorrows. -Richard

I'm an Eagles fan so the year has not begun on a high note but the sooner you screw the year up... the more time you have to fix it. Stay frosty my friend.
