Sometimes and Always
Sometimes, it’s just a whispered prayer;
In times of desperation
You intercede, you meet my need
And loving kindness flows.
Sometimes, it’s when I speak your name;
Like times of giving thanks
You come beside, you rise like tides
And joy like billows roll.
Sometimes, I sing a simple song;
When times of troubles taunt
You fill and thrill my heart until
New hope tells doubt to die.
Sometimes, it’s when I look above;
When times of evil stain
You love and cover from above
And restoration comes.
Sometimes, it’s when I do not speak;
When times of lies assail
You reach and teach and speak to me
And truth reclaims my life.
Sometimes, is an always state;
When Jesus reigns inside
You reside, revive and never hide,
You live to love us so.
