Something New From The Parrot At The Zoo Tell me what hippopotamus Want's to be synonymous With having mud on your face Read between the lines On those zebra's behinds Even hot air has it's place Ask the all knowing gnu Might you try something new Could you make a worthy about-face Or will you like a dodo All squack and no go-go Up and vanish with nary a trace Save for the memory of an elephant A musical dilettante Who'll write a song about you on his bass 10/27/18 Composed for Nina Parmeter's Trying Something New Poetry Contest
