Some Fairy Tales
The Beauty and the Beast
Young Belle, with a heart full of grace,
Found love in a beastly embrace;
Though his looks were quite grim
She saw beyond the whim
And found kindness in his rough face.
The Ant and the Grasshopper
A busy ant, very earnest and keen,
Stored food for winter, a diligent scene;
A grasshopper just played,
No thought in its mind stayed
And had to shiver when frost was so mean.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Young Snow White, with a skin like the frost,
By her stepmother's envy was tossed;
With seven little men
She lived safe in their den
Till a kiss saved her from being lost.
Cinderella
Young Cinderella, with eyes so bright,
Dreamt of a wonderful princely night;
With a fairy's soft spell,
At grand ball she did well,
Then by midnight her slipper did stray.
Hansel and Gretel
Young Hansel and Gretel, in forest lost,
By wicked witch in her oven were tossed;
With a push and a shove
And a heavenly stove,
They escaped, though it came at a high cost.
The Bird and the Whale
A swift little bird, Fable by name,
Felt the expansive ocean's great fame;
Dozing on a whale`s back,
Was awakened, aback:
The whale whispered, "Your world is not lame."
