Notes About The Poem

Perish the thought of a parish that will perish if their belief is not solus Christus.

Solus Christus

Mary was blessed, a chosen one
Who bore the Man, God’s Holy Son
Yet what Christ did He did alone
The sinless life to the heavenly throne

No sacred text declares her divine
All-knowing, everywhere, through time
Nor places her where Christ must be
Our Lord, our Hope, our Victory

No eisegetical gymnastic
Can make the story more fantastic
Jesus is the Truth, The Life, The Way
That’s the Way it’s been (even as today)

At Calvary, Jesus made a decision
Entrusting her to John was His provision
Then Mary fades from writs purview
Still blessed and honored to this day through

This is not to cast Mary down
But keep for Christ His rightful crown
Mary, blessed among all women
And in Jesus she can be forgiven

Thanks John.....nice to know another brother in Christ. God bless you too. My favorite Scripture verse is 2 Corinthians 13:8 "For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth"
