Solar-Lunar Wonder

Under the broad sweep of endless sky, In that rare and hallowed moment When the moon, in audacious stealth, Edges before the sun, A quietude descends, profound and deep. The air, thick with anticipation, Holds its breath; The earth, in its tireless orbit, Pauses—in reverence To the grandeur to which we all belong. This spectacle, this dance of light and shadow, Where the day is night and the sun is dark, Unveils the universe’s unfathomable mystery, A reminder of our fleeting passage In the boundless march of time. As the corona flares, A crown of light, ethereal and untouchable, Encircles the shadowed moon— A garnered glimpse into the sun’s hidden majesty. In this moment, we are but specks, Yet infinitely connected to the cosmic ballet. This eclipse, eagerly awaited, a miracle witnessed, Serves not just as a meeting of celestial bodies, But as a bridge across the void, Linking heart to heart, soul to soul, To the very essence of existence itself. In awe, we stand, Observers of the universe’s embrace, Witnesses to the endless dance Of light and shadow, Of time and space, And the quiet, enduring marvel That is life, in its myriad forms and fleeting beauty.

You captured the solar eclipse so magnificently. I agree with it, I felt like I was witnessing a miracle. I'll long remember the anticipation you mention, the quiet and solemn reverence as people across the country unified over such a marvelous event. The event was truly 'a bridge across a void linking heart to heart and soul to soul. You've penned one of the most exquisite poems I've read in a long time. I have to fave this one and applaud you for your poetic voice and style. Color me grateful.

Sara, you exude grace and words of depth. Yes! Union again. How we need that. I have no secrets, other than those long held in my heart. Poets find an unexpectedly beautiful way to hint at their secrets without surrendering them for the world to abase. Enjoy the mystery; your own to begin with. Cheers, Don

What a celestial write dear don, how youv written and described the dance of light and dark and shadows, and how it sometimes remind us more than ever that there is a higher power or creator. I especially thought these lines were beyond powerful! “ Where the day is night and the sun is dark, Unveils the universe’s unfathomable mystery, A reminder of our fleeting passage In the boundless march of time.” so true. So many mysteries… so much in nature, an eye opener, of fleeting time. Fave!
