soiled words

Soiled words, discarded thoughts Literary leaves of autumn Blowing aimlessly without direction Caught in the fervor of a wind gust Scorched by times fading flames Shrieking in life’s mindless madness Knowing that their moment, their season Has escaped the grasp of Now’s passing

There's always hope to rescue words, people. Perhaps it's better to just turn loose of that branch and let the winds of fate blow us away. I prefer your ending.
