Softer Emotion
The sea, flows with rhythmic motion.
It's movement, gentle and calm.
An expression of softer emotion,
languid as a swaying palm.
The waves, with barely a crest,
ripple and drift along the shore.
Touching the sand, with a caress,
then leisurely recede, nothing more.
The ocean reflects, the gray of the sky,
into the distant horizon, fading away.
Above, the seagulls, soar so high.
Their cries add sound to the quiet day.
Pieces of driftwood, seen here and there,
supplied by the most recent storm.
They speak of distress, and signs of wear.
Twisted into an unusual shape and form.
It is a quiet, peaceful day.
The wind is mindful and kind.
It softly whispers,"come and stay,"
"leave the world behind."
