Sober New Year's Eve

This is something I've said over and over. On New Year's Eve, I want to stay sober. I don't want my head to feel light. No booze for me before the stroke of midnight. Don't give me anything you have got here. That includes any whiskey, wine, or beer. For any of those, I will have no use. Hold the vodka; give me plain orange juice.

I hardly ever drink so not a problem to leave it alone. For some it is a real problem so feel sorry they cannot leave it alone. Did not even go out for new year this year and that is first time in a long long time. Guess age is catching up. lol love phyl

I had the flu this year so it wasn’t a problem in my house!

It's sad if you struggle with this. Or maybe it's not too big a problem. My son is a lawyer and functioning alcoholic and I wish he would do like your poem says

I enjoyed reading this powerful/wonderful "Sober New Year's Eve" write. No one really needs booze to have a ton of fun. What a fun night watching TV with cheese, crackers and tea for me. Your poem is a powerful statement of individual choice and personal integrity, using wonderful language and a direct approach to make the point. Happy holidays. Try to listen to the music I just uploaded to my poem, Amarenthine Girl, and please let me know how you find it.
