So Many To Feed

When Jesus with friends found a retreat
the crowds followed on, him seeking to meet.
     With so great a need
     and so many to feed,
“Where can we find food for them all to eat?”

“There's a boy with five loaves and two fish,”
said Andrew, “hardly enough to nourish
     a crowd that's so large,
     but you are in charge.”
Loaves and fish Jesus blessed with a flourish.

With five thousand seated there on the ground
he shared out the food and all did astound,
     for each had enough
     without feeling stuffed.
All then claimed, “Here is a prophet profound.”

Thanks Kim. When I get a moment I am working through the Gospels. Perhaps offer them to the Bible Society one day.
