Written for my dear friends in Sweden. This couple I met while at a rock concert in New Jersey a few years ago. They had bought my poetry book and fell in love with some of my lyrics. They are also wonderful musicians that have taken some of my poetry and put it to music. We have become great friends over the few years that we have known each other. So close we are, my brother and sister, from so far away..
Some friends of mine...that are in my heart
On Swedish soil...so far apart
The love we share...for one another
I am proud to call...sister, brother
In many ways...we are both the same
We wear the same faces...Just have a different name
So far away, my friends...forty-five hundred miles
The distance doesn't matter...we still share our smiles
I thank the lord, Jesus...for my good friends
I hope I see them again...when my life ends
Some friends of mine...from distant lands
So far away, my friends...I can touch their hands
Some friends of mine...from a distant land
So far away, my friends...I can touch their hand
The love we share...ev'ry night and day
Brother, sister...I am proud to say
Distance doesn't matter...we still share our smiles
So far away, my friends...forty-five hundred miles
We wear the same faces...just have a different name
In many ways, my friends...we are both the same
From the Sweden sun...to the U.S. moon
Friendships, so beautiful...like a sunny day in June
When the roses bud...and the tulips kiss
I think about my friends...brother, sis
So beautiful, my friends...like a sunny day in June
From the U.S. sun...to the Sweden moon
I think about my friends...brother, sis
When the roses bud...and the tulips kiss
*Dedicated to two very special friends in my life.
