Snowflakes

Mesmerizing flutters and flourishes
gracefully blow on the wind
drifting, creeping and crawling up and down my back door
I see you hit the pane
slide a little to the left and kiss another
slipping together as your mass melds - swaying as one
As if on dancing on ice
Together you perform
Quick-stepping motion
As the crowd thickens
or winds abate
Tired from your escapade together you settle
On the purest white bed
Where tomorrows warmth will warm your juices
Melting you and allowing you to slip away
almost unnoticed you make your exit

Anne-Maria. I love the way you presented those snowflakes to us! If not for some misspellings, I would have placed this on the top ten!! Congrats for your HM.

EXCELLENT use of personification for the snowflakes. How creative to see them as dancing, swaying and kissing. This is so beautiful, Anna-Marie! Love you and your precious heart, Carolyn

Beautiful personification Anna-Marie, in your poetry! Thanks for your gracious comment on my Raven. And yes the Adam and Eve parallel plays out in my poem, for what is death but an illusion that is swallowed up in victory by the reality of life. Real enought to the dual concept of mind in a natural world, but non the less an illusionary concept. Agape, Moses

Hi Anna-Marie. You got a lot of poetry out of a few snowflakes. Thanks for stopping by to read my poetry. Too bad it was that senseless one that was purely in response to a contest to write as many oxymoronic lines as possible. Love, Joyce

Ahhh, this could be called Romance of the Snowflakes. And they could fashion it into a famous ballet!! Really, this is so pretty I can see it as a dance show! Luv, Andrea
