Snow Place Like Home
Snowflakes slap at my window pane,
They're soft yet strong just the same.
The ice and winds attempt to get in,
snowflakes blow harder-determined to win.
I rather enjoy this beautiful dance,
The frozen show puts me into a trance.
The fire inside it keeps me warm,
The storm from outside can do me no harm.
But suddenly I desire to feel the cold,
I want to be outside to play in the snow.
To be a child from long ago,
Then I realize I'm much too old.
So my window and I watch it blow,
And feel the warmth of the fires glow.
Suddenly the winds begin to slow,
The moon puts to sleep the beautiful snow.
