Snow, Like You
I saw a snowflake drift silently past my window . . .
and I watched as it danced and turned . . .
It was so real ~
so full of life!
Finally, I could stand it no longer.
I swung wide my window and let it float in.
It melted away . . .
I was left with a beautiful memory ~
a drop of water on my fingertip, my lips.
I couldn’t understand how it could have changed . . .
so quickly, so silently . . .
I only wanted to reach out to it ~
and care for it.
Yet alas,
a snowflake . . .
as you,
must be touched
gently.
