Snow In July
Snow In July? Crazy right?
I was wearing my swimsuit bright.
I called my cousin Little Fred.
He had the biggest slickest sled.
Flakes fell for hours on lilacs and roses.
We stayed out there ‘til we froze our noses.
Our moms and dads called in work, sick.
The roads were icy, black, and slick.
We had the best fun of our lives,
Flopping on that sled in groups of fives,
The neighbors all got together for cheers.
This is the best day of the last five years!
Why it snowed is still a mystery,
But last July went down in history.
Snow in July, amazing, I say.
The very best neighbors, and the very best day!
