Snakes

I hear the leaves rustling
From behind the trees
Unsure of what I will find there
I peek carefully to see

A family of snakes slithering
Oh so scared of me
They’ve made their nest there
Just beneath the leaves

Now my porch is invaded
They just want to be free
These tiny little critters are living
A little too close to me

I really love the playful spirit. It reminds me of those old skipping stones. Maybe you call it "jump rope"...anyway, love the childish narator. Childish but in no way a jeuvinile piece :) Also thank you for your very kind comments! I have a monster of a migraine at the moment and they combined with this poem have really cheered me up. Thanks, Nathaniel :D

Great work, Lolita! I smiled reading this one. If you ever find a way to rid your porch of the snakes, please let me know how you did it. There is something living in the dark area behind my dryer. I'm open to suggestions for extermination. LOL

Spiders and snakes aren't my favorite of God's creatures. If they are within eyesight, they are much to close. Vince

Ew. So sorry I am NOT a snake person at all. Hope they move away, quickly. Love, Shar
