Slivering Snake
Cold are the snakes that sliver thru the tall grass
Quietly patiently they wait
Unaware is the prey that walks through its fields
Carelessly open to it’s fate
They meet at the crossroads
surprised is the prey
Then relaxed for the smile the snake gives
They speak for a moment then the prey gives a pet
SNAP! A victim, a climax. the mood lives
Poor little person fights for the rights
To pick itself up from its lows
Others prepare and calculate the moment
For that’s how the story goes
The snake licks its chop, the victim runs away
It didn’t give blood this time
Ho hum says the snake there’s one born everyday
I’ll be waiting for you next time
