Smoke In the Trees

The sky is an ocean
Of rolling clouds and dreams
Light the fire
Smoke up the trees
And dance in the breeze
Freeze up and take notice

This was your sign
Buried in the ground so long ago
These were your fears
Whispered in my ears
This was your only song
Played with my heartstrings

A skeptic's wit
So dry was the humor
Licked pink lips
A lover's paradise unknown
But oh so very quaint
Innit that right

It was all smoke in the trees
Just to get attention
Don't waste the twilight
Looking for my light
When you hold my eyes
I still see forever
