Smile

I remember that first smile
The way my cheek bones raised
Even when you are not near
I find myself with that stare
The smile my lips can not deny

If I promised to save all my smiles for you
You could never be blue
As you could then know they were true
Like a stolen kiss they seal our delight

As I write this for you
My eyes smile of the thought of you
My mouth weakens to the smile
Every nerve ending in my body reacts
Just one more smile just for you...

I love how the eyes smile before the mouth and then pull the whole body into the smile - that's so true, but this is the first time I've ever read it in poetry! Saving smiles is also a creative concept. Enojyed this one :) -Grace
