Small Words of Wisdom From the Tea-Time Traveler
The following words are of wisdom in prose
I tried to be careful in what words I chose
They are my own interpretations
With some small poetic alterations
When you look upon another human being
Don’t be fooled by what you are seeing
Don’t judge them by their outer skin
Rather, see them from what they are within
Love must always be a two way street
And somewhere in the middle the two must meet
It’s not just about the gift you got from above
It’s also about giving a good share of your love
Laugh like you’ve never laughed before
Dance like your feet have left the floor
Love like you’ve found your soul mate and best friend
And live like your life will never end
Don’t live in the past, it’s over and done
Don’t live in the future, it hasn’t begun
Live in the present one day at a time
Give thanks even though you may have had a hard climb
Treat nature with a gentle touch
Give back to her and don’t take so much
She has sustained life for millions of years
And if we’re not careful, it will all disappear
The ultimate gift from Heaven above
Is to be able to find somebody to love
It’s the greatest lesson you will ever learn
And to have someone love you in return
There is a thin line between love and hate
An even thinner line between destiny and fate
Love can be destiny’s soul and breath
Hate is a fate worse than death
You should always be true to yourself
As well as being true to everyone else
Greet people like you would like to be greeted
Treat people like you would like to be treated
Have love for your fellow human being
Don’t worry about what others are thinking
You should just be yourself always
And never assume a false face
Always be a contender
And never be a pretender
Get into the ring of life and fight
For what you believe to be right
Always be a dreamer
And never be a schemer
Your dreams will take you far and wide
Your schemes will bite you in the behind
You can make the possible come true
And that will effect the probable too
You can be whatever you want to be
And make others see what you want them to see
Don’t misuse any powers you may gain
And never cause anyone any grief or pain
Remember on this earth you’re just a guest
So always give thanks for that which you’re blessed
In this life we worry about every little thing
Try not to worry about what tomorrow may bring
Especially if there’s nothing you can do about it
You’ll worry yourself to death, you can live without it
Be open to all possibilities
Be aware of all probabilities
Try new things with others or alone
Try to get out of your comfort zone
Everything is possible
But not everything is probable
There’s a big difference between the two
And that difference between them is you
Realize that life does not go on and on
One minute you’re here, the next minute you’re gone
Try to make a difference in all that you do
So that people will remember you
If you knew then what you know now
Would you live your life different somehow?
Would you make the same mistakes you made then
If you had your life to live over again?
Sometimes think about the past and yourself
Was it you back then or somebody else
Cause I often think some people are two people in one
And I wonder which one did the things that they’ve done
Try to be a child again
Run and play with imaginary friends
Take out your toys and play and make a mess
Live life without worries, concerns or stress
Well, that’s all I have to share with you for now
I thought there was more somehow
If I think of more wisdom, I’ll write it down and
Share it with you, my friends in Poetry Soup land
