Sleeping Giants
The gentle breath
Of sleeping giants
Sweetly murmur
In soothing rhythm
Calm and enticing
A soft tremble in the valley
A false sense of security
An illusion most welcome
Hours of peace to soothe the heart
Maybe temporary but
It appeases the nervous souls
Forests on steep mountain slopes
Tremble in their wake
The sun has set
It’s cast its shadows
As night descends on tiptoe
