Sleep and Wake Intertwine

In vague soft sepia you appear to me... Those timeless seconds where sleep and wake intertwine. A face I want to touch, recognize, my fingers reach but cannot uncover your warm radiance like the moon, warmth like the sun. In the hour after seeing you I lament a loss I don't recall. Arms around an infant, and a voice that sings soothing songs, cradle... Who are you? Was there ever a stage in my life that I knew you? That you sang this song for me in a language near forgotten? I wish I didn't dream about you anymore, that you were a fastly fading Polaroid, disappearing for ever without yearning or longing. *** March 1, 2017 © Darren White

Longing and yearning, painful but heart-felt. John

Morning Tim... It's not the best place to dwell too long, is it? All those what ifs and so on. But sometimes you can't help it because your dreams take you to places you cannot predict or stop. I hope you slept well :)

It is indeed a dream, in that very old photo-like colour. Thank you.
